Triathlon BC has unveiled the BC X Tri Series, a novel off-road triathlon competition.

According to a press release, this four-event sequence brings together British Columbia’s most iconic off-road locations. Participants can expect a mix of endurance, adventure, and memorable natural beauty with open-water swims, technical mountain bike courses and rugged trail runs.

On June 7, Squamish will be the first to host a BC X Tri Series race. The circuit moves to Victoria on July 6 and Cumberland on Sept. 6 before it's Whistler stop come Sept. 14.

Athletes collect points at each event based on their age group placings. To qualify for the series awards, a participant must complete a minimum of three races. Points from the entire season will contribute to final rankings, with awards presented in Whistler.

"The launch of the BC X Tri Series is an incredible way to highlight British Columbia’s stunning landscapes and exceptional network of trails while advancing the sport of off-road triathlon across our province," said Allan Prazsky, Executive Director of Triathlon BC, in a release. "We look forward to athletes of all abilities embracing this challenge and making the inaugural series truly unforgettable."
