To the surprise of almost nobody, Marcus Goguen is on his way back to the Freeride World Tour (FWT).

The Whistlerite has officially been named to the FWT roster for next season, where he'll attempt to dethrone defending overall champion Max Hitzig. Goguen placed just beneath his German rival in 2024's rankings, though he finished strong with a gold medal at the revered Bec des Rosses face in Verbier, Switzerland.

Everyone will have to tackle a new battleground this campaign: Val Thorens. That particular venue may give home-snow advantage to French skiers like Oscar Mandin, Virgile Didier and Mathys Fornasier, while Ben Richards of New Zealand also looks to shake up the standings after his third-overall effort last winter.

Other Canadians to watch out for include Tom Peiffer as well as Erin Sauve and Audrey Hebert on the women's snowboard side of things.
