A quartet of Whistler Mountain Ski Club (WMSC) alumni have been selected for Team Canada's unit at the 2025 FIS World Ski Championships from Feb. 4 to 16.
Jack Crawford became the first Canuck to win the Kitzbühel downhill since 1983 and he'll look for another strong effort in Saalbach, Austria. Joining him is Cameron Alexander, who netted bronze in Kitzbühel.
The Seger brothers, Brodie and Riley, are in as well.
"The team has delivered consistent results and shown steady improvement this season with guys in the mix at every race," said Canadian men's alpine head coach John Kucera in a press release. "There have been some big moments, like Jack and Cam’s Kitzbühel podiums, and there have been equally important results like Brodie being in the points in seven of his eight races this season.
"We are excited to get to World Championships to defend our title and I know this staff and these athletes will continue to push each other to deliver their best at Worlds and beyond."
Locals won't soon forget Crawford's super-G triumph at the 2023 World Championships. Kucera and Erik Guay are the only other Canadian men to secure a world title in alpine skiing.
