Kayla Constantini, Tannen DesBrisay and Kohen Tacilauskas will attempt to make the Whistler Freeride Club (WFC) proud in the new year as they partake in the upcoming Junior Freeride World Championships.

Constantini seeks redemption in Kappl, Austria after placing 10th in her first Junior Worlds appearance earlier this year. Her two male teammates will be experiencing that grand stage for the inaugural time.

The WFC is getting behind its current wave of talent after Marcus Goguen and Lukas Bennett struck gold at back-to-back Junior Worlds events in 2023 and 2024. A silent auction will launch in early December, leading to a Dec. 14 fundraising event at Buffalo Bills.

A letter distributed to by Constantini and her mom Bev to potential donors reads: "The [WFC] is proud to be home to over 150 athletes dedicated to excelling in big mountain skiing. Our athletes compete at various events across numerous resorts each season. This year, three exceptional athletes will represent Canada at the Junior Freeride World Championships in Austria!

"We are raising funds to cover travel costs for coaches to support them at Worlds, as well as travel costs for our athletes and coaches competing at the North American Championships in Northstar, California, and at regional and national events in B.C. and Alberta. We would greatly appreciate your support through a donation of products or services. Your contribution will make a tangible difference and be recognized with a feature of your company on our auction site. Thank you for supporting our athletes and coaches on their journey!"

The next Junior Worlds contest is scheduled from Jan. 13 to 16, 2025.
