The Whistler Summer Concert Series kicked off in style on June 29 as the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) made its triumphant return to the resort.
Photographer Oisin McHugh was on hand, as were thousands of other Whistlerites and classical music fans, to take it all in.
It's the first time the VSO has performed in the resort since 2019.
“We are so excited to welcome the VSO back to Whistler Olympic Plaza to launch another summer of music in our community. The power of a full orchestra playing iconic musical scores in this majestic outdoor setting will be an unforgettable experience,” said Mayor Jack Crompton in a release last month. “On top of that, Whistler’s Summer Concert Series features an outstanding line-up of musical performances through July and August with even more concerts than last year.”
The free Summer Concert Series continues tomorrow, Canada Day, when Blackie and The Rodeo Kings rock Whistler Olympic Plaza with longtime friends Daniel Lanois and Terra Lightfoot.
