Local figure skaters of all skill levels will soon get their chance to brush shoulders with an Olympian.
Kaetlyn Osmond is visiting the Whistler Skating Club from August 14 to 18 as a guest instructor. The Marystown, Nfld. native is the proud owner of three Olympic medals, including gold in the team figure skating event from Pyeongchang 2018, silver from the team event at Sochi 2014, and bronze in ladies singles from Pyeongchang.
With her victory at the 2018 World Figure Skating Championships in Milan, Italy, Osmond became the first Team Canada athlete to win a singles world title in 45 years. She and compatriot Gabrielle Daleman earned silver and bronze, respectively, at worlds in 2017: the first time a pair of Canadians had stood together on a World Championships podium.
