This Saturday, April 1, Whistler Olympic Park (WOP) visitors who hold a season pass or day ticket are invited to join in a free "Springtime Shenanigans" event. Outlandish outfits are encouraged.
From 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, guests can participate in Nordic activity stations for a chance to win prizes. Stations are suitable for all abilities.
Those who visit the rental shop in a fun outfit and announce to the rental staff that “I'm a fool!” can claim a 50% discount on cross country ski and snowshoe rentals.
Whistler Cooks will be putting together a barbecue meal outside the Day Lodge.
Classic skis and boots in all sizes will be available, as well as a small selection of skate boots, at WOP's end-of-season clearance sale in the retail shop. Ex-rental fleet equipment will also be sold, but there will be no skate-skis.
WOP seasonal operations officially conclude on April 9. However, a bonus weekend of snowshoeing and cross-country skiing will be offered on April 15 and 16 due to favourable spring conditions during regular park hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). All season passes will be valid, and day tickets will be sold at 25 per cent off regular pricing.
The Day Lodge, including rental shop, café, washrooms, guest services and ski school will be closed, along with the tobogganing hill. Access to all available trails will be through the main Dog Parking lot. All other parking lots will be closed. Portable bathrooms are available at Dog Parking.
Consult WOP's Conditions page for more details.
