The first major snowstorm of the season has brought with it a silver lining for cross-country skiers. Whistler Sport Legacies has announced that, due to recent snowfall, the Callaghan Valley venue will be fully operational beginning Thursday, Dec. 1.
Cross-country skiing will be available seven days a week, including on dog-friendly trails. Groomers are working to extend all available trails wherever the snow's base depth allows. Snowshoeing trails are also being prepared and should be available "by this weekend," although an exact date has not been given. Whistler Olympic Park's Day Lodge, which includes a cafe, retail and rental shop, along with a sport school and lessons, will also be open every day.
Only the tobogganing hill remains closed as park personnel await more natural snow.
Guests are advised to check the Whistler Sport Legacies conditions web page daily prior to their visit for detailed information on available trails, activities and services.
