Two fixtures on Whistlers bike scene took part in the Union Cycliste Internationale Masters mountain bike World Championships in Bromont, Quebec, last weekend, racing competitors from as far away as Australia and Russia.
Tony Routley and Rob McSkimming of Whistler went together, raced together in the mens 45 to 49 division, and finished within one minute of each other to take third and fourth respectively out of a field of 24 racers.
Nobody was catching James Silvano of Italy, who won the race with a time of one hour 15 minutes 22 seconds over 20.85 km. Nels Guloien of Quebec was second at 1:21:49, Routley third at 1:22:37, and McSkimming fourth at 1:23:37.
