evo’s Journeyman Lodge in the Callaghan is set to host a Duel matchup during the inaugural round of the 2025 Natural Selection Tour (NST).
Whistlerites might know Brin Alexander as a snowboarder, stuntman and climber. He'll face off against fellow pro rider Bjorn Leines, a former X Games medallist out of Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
Created by freeride legend Travis Rice, the NST unites Earth's best riders—from Olympians to big mountain film icons—as they challenge a variety of jaw-dropping terrain. NST Duels are held at six notable mountain venues worldwide, eliminating some contenders and advancing others to the next stage of the tour culminating in Revelstoke, B.C.
Another local, Mikey Ciccarelli, is the reigning men's champion.
"Natural Selection Duels at the Callaghan represent the pinnacle of snowboarding—creativity, progression, and a profound connection to the natural world,” said Rebecca Heard, evo Chief Marketing Officer, in a press release. “With its breathtaking terrain, untouched powder, and rich backcountry history, the Callaghan is the ideal venue for this event. evo is proud to support initiatives that celebrate the intersection of sport, the outdoors, and community."
Highlights from each Duel will premiere Feb. 24 on Red Bull TV. For more information visit the NST website.
