A number of local athletes found the podium on the BC Provincial Slopestyle Series' recent event at Whistler Blackcomb.
On Jan. 5, Whistler Valley Snowboard Club (WVSC) members Lyra Xu (66.40) and Christina Tian (62.43) struck silver and bronze respectively among U18 girls. Anna Lucas (69.54) claimed gold.
Charlee Hill won the U13 girls competition (66.22), while U15 females Cora Campos (48.40) and Ilya Cooper (46.59) finished second and third in their age category.
In the U15 boys' contest, Jonas Gaces found himself in third (49.08) behind victor Stian Langbakk (79.97) and runner-up Rhys Rozon (73.89).
Logan Daling (60.89) grabbed silver, with only Tommy Roy better among U13 boys (86.80).
Xu added a bronze to her collection the following day on Jan. 6 (64.88), behind Katie Brayer (80.20) and Laura Lucas (65.21). Meanwhile, Hill emerged on top for a second straight event (62.70) and Campos ended up third (47.44).
Silas Postal introduced himself into the U18 male podium conversation last Saturday with a bronze of his own (73.70). Dashiell Kiebe-McCulloch, who was in the mix as an overage 19-year-old, took victory (81.15) and Alexandre Slavinski (78.24) clinched silver.
Daling wound up second in his U13 age group (61.49) and Odin Frail was not far behind in third (51.94).
