Lucas Cruz raced to 10th in his first DH event of the season at the Tennessee National. On March 26, the Pemberton native clocked in at two minutes, 35.62 seconds at Windrock Bike Park as the second-fastest Canadian in the field.
Americans defended home soil well, with Dakotah Norton leading the way (2:24.45). Aaron Gwin (2:26.68) and Luca Shaw (2:30.07) rounded out the podium in second and third, respectively.
Tristan Lemire of Quebec was the top Canadian in eighth (2:35.35).
"Fun day of racing here at Windrock Bike Park!" Cruz said on his Instagram account after the contest. "First race of 2023 and first race as a new team! Can’t wait for what the rest of the season brings."
Cruz and his younger brother, Tegan, combined for nine podium finishes in 2022.
