Three Freestyle Whistler skiers podium at Nationals

Maia Schwinghammer and Jessica Linton clinch gold and silver in dual moguls, Sam Cordell earns bronze among men

Canada’s top moguls racers were in Val Saint-Côme, Que. from March 25 to 27 for the National Championships, and Freestyle Whistler athletes acquitted themselves well.

Maia Schwinghammer got the best of her close friend Jessica Linton for the women's dual moguls title, while Sam Cordell earned bronze among men.

Berkley Brown from Toronto, Ont. finished third among women, edging out Laurianne Desmarais-Gilbert of Brossard, Que.

On the men's side, Elliot Vaillancourt of Drummondville, Que. became dual moguls champion ahead of fellow Francophone Gabriel Dufresne. Cordell defeated Sam Goodison of Fernie, B.C. in the small final.

As per usual, Mikaël Kingsbury dominated Saturday's single moguls contest. The winner of three World Cup Crystal Globes this season stood atop yet another podium with 87.33 points, ahead of Louis-David Chalifoux (79.90) and Daniel Tanner (76.29).

Desmarais-Gilbert (65.58) earned the second Canadian title of her career in singles, getting the better of Brown (65.39) and Florence Laroche (65.06).
