On behalf of the Whistler Gymnastics Club, I would like to thank the parents, athletes, coaches and volunteers that were involved in another successful season.
We wrapped up the year with our third annual Dancing on the Ceiling show, giving our gymnasts a chance to show their parents what theyve learned. All of the club athletes participated, and there were special performances by the Mountain Mamas sport aerobic team, the Storm Dance troop, and a display by Whistlers own Rikka Tindle, a bronze medal winner at the nationals with the B.C. team. A group of parents also put on a routine of their own.
The athletes who really stood out in each program over the past year were also given special awards, which were decided by the coaches.

Two more special awards were presented at the Dancing on the Ceiling evening. The "Hodie Award" for the volunteer of the year went to Sandra Cameron who both co-ordinated volunteers and donated her own time to the club.
Sheila Mozes was also recognized for being the driving force behind the club. The board of directors want to thank her for everything she has done in the past few years to make the club as successful as it is. She will be stepping down from her position as program director, but will remain on the board as the assistant registrar.
While the clubs regular season is over, summer camps will be starting on July 30. The club is also registering kids for fall gymnastics programs. To sign up for the summer camps or fall sessions, contact Tami Ross at 932-0969.
