Lily Boucher had herself a day in Combloux, France at the UCI Enduro World Cup (EDR).
The Squamolian finished third among U21 ladies in a fast time of 33 minutes and 41.491 seconds to share the podium with victor Winni Goldsbury of New Zealand (32:21.743) and runner-up Slovakian Simona Kuchynkova (33:12.508).
"Happy with this one. Crazy physical day out there," wrote Boucher on social media. "Pushed super hard just to make all the transfer times and rode some of the stages cross-eyed, but feels good to be rewarded with a spot on the box. Had a great time racing some sick loamers as well.
"Super grateful for the team I have behind me! Huge thanks to [Rocky Mountain Gravity Racing] and friends and family for the support this weekend and always. Cheers [Joel Harwood] for your guidance and tempo rides with the boys this winter. Definitely came in handy this weekend."
Meanwhile, Wei Tien Ho found himself on the outside looking in after a slow start and an ill-timed crash landed him in fourth (27:06.413) during the men's U21 race.
Gold went to Czech contender Adam Maxa (26:44.975). JT Fisher wrapped up silver for the United States (26:59.587) and Australia's Bailey Christie emerged with bronze (27:02.580).
"Still lots of positives to take away," said Ho, who clawed up into second before his mechanical issue on Stage 6. "Was a tough day out and would’ve been nice to have finished with a better result, but will have to save it for the next round in a couple weeks."
Richie Rude and Morgane Charre prevailed among elite men and women respectively. Jesse Melamed was 10th, and Andréane Lanthier Nadeau managed ninth.
