Chalk up one more triumph apiece for local mountain bikers Cami Bragg and Mack Manietta.
Bragg emerged victorious in the US Open's age 15-16 girls' race (3:22.353) ahead of two Americans: runner-up Nory Klein (3:27.967) and third-placer Kallie Stewart (3:30.658). In so doing, Bragg also clinched the BOA Dialed In Award and $2,500 in cash as the event's fastest female amateur.
"Super happy with P1 and over the moon taking the [Dialed In Award]," Bragg wrote on social media. "Great job to all the other girls. Massive thank you to Boa and Fox US Open."
Manietta also displayed his quality in Killington, Vt. with gold in the boys' 13-14 discipline (2:54.734). Ryo Boisvert achieved a silver medal (3:03.307) while Alexandre Beaulieu (3:03.503) narrowly outperformed Sebastien Harrisson for bronze.
Earlier this summer, Manietta netted the Stevie Smith Memorial Award at Crankworx Whistler.
A few other Sea to Sky athletes were involved as well. Jack McCredie came seventh and Cody Kelly 24th in the boys' 15-16 event, while Xavier Harrisson was also seventh among age 14-13 males. Anthony Shelly found himself 10th in the male junior division.
Bragg, Manietta, Shelly and the Harrisson brothers also participated at the invitational Best Whip competition.
