The Meadow Park Sports Centre arena is hosting the first of a series of NHL Skills Competitions on Saturday (Oct. 20), from 6 to 8 p.m.
Kids over the age of eight are invited to take part in drills that will test shooting, passing and skating skills.
Prizes will be awarded to the top competitor in each event, and all players will have an opportunity to win a new hockey stick if they can put the puck through the score-o-board.
Organizers hope the competition will inspire local hockey players to take their game to the next level.
All public skaters using the ice during this time are welcome to take part in the competition at no extra charge.
