Heads up if you're heading up the mountain on Wednesday: Whistler Blackcomb's (WB) Catskinner chair is set to close early for maintenance.
"It has a necessary haul rope inspection this week (to determine additional work that may be required this summer)—the lift will close 15 minutes early [on May 3] at 3:45 p.m. and will reopen the following afternoon [May 4] with the goal of doing so by noon," the mountain operator shared in a social media post Tuesday.
"We’re aiming for minimal disruption, but only have a small window for this work while the inspector is in Whistler—and we want to avoid this work over the weekend when we have more guests on mountain, too. The good news? Terrain accessible via Catskinner will still be open during the short closure and can be accessed by uploading at Excelerator, then over to Jersey Cream."
The mountain operator also reiterated that safety is its top priority, and that there is much more work to be done to ensure all on-mountain infrastructure is "in top shape."
Stay tuned to WB's social channels for further updates, and be sure to follow @wbmtnops on Twitter for the latest on-mountain conditions.
