Police are investigating after a laptop and a cash register containing $200 were stolen from a Function Junction business earlier this week.
Whistler RCMP were called on Monday, March 7 to respond to a reported break-and-enter at a business located in the 1100 block of Millar Creek Rd..
The stolen valuables were discovered missing after the unit’s glass front door was smashed in order to gain entry. The break-in occurred between 3 and 7 a.m. Monday morning, police explained in a release.
The empty cash register was later located on Highway 99 at approximately 2 p.m. RCMP subsequently attended the scene and seized the register for forensic examination.

CCTV SHOWS MAN STEALING FROM WHISTLER STORE'S TIP JAR
Another local business also suffered a recent theft, but this pilfering didn’t necessitate a forced entry.
Whistler RCMP responded to a complaint from a business located in the 4000 block of Whistler Way at about 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2. Police learned the theft took place the previous Sunday, Feb. 27, when CCTV cameras caught the man with his hands in the tip jar.
According to RCMP, footage shows an approximately six-foot-tall Caucasian man in his mid-20’s enter the store, snatch money from the tip jar, and immediately leave the premises. The man was wearing a black and red patterned jacket, beige baseball cap and a blue cloth mask at the time.
WHISTLER RCMP SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP FOLLOWING VEHICLE THEFT FROM HWY 99
A missing vehicle necessitated a call to Whistler RCMP for help earlier this week.
Police responded to the reported theft on Saturday, March 5 after the four-door sedan disappeared from the spot alongside Highway 99 between Wedge Creek Forest Service Road and Whistler Heliport Rd., where it had been parked.
The stolen car was described as a 2020 black Hyundai Elantra.
