Peak Express is now open on Whistler Mountain.

With more snow in the forecast, Whistler Blackcomb (WB) announced it has expanded its skiable terrain.

In a release Thursday, Dec. 5, the ski resort said it opened Peak Chair on Whistler Mountain, with 7th Heaven opening Friday, Dec. 6. Runs such as The Saddle, Peak to Creek, Xhiggy’s Meadow, and Hugh’s Heaven are now accessiile, bringing the total area of skiable terrain across both mountains to 5,500 acres (2,226 hectares).

The alpine forecast calls for 25 centimetres of snow this weekend, adding to the 256 cm of snowfall already accumulated this season.

Even with the snowfall, WB urged visitors to be aware of early-season conditions.

“Delays in opening 7th Heaven and Peak Express may occur as the Patrol team works diligently to ensure the highest safety standards for all visitors,” the release went on. “Guests are encouraged to ski and ride with a buddy and follow all posted signage. Whistler Blackcomb Ski Patrol is available to help and answer any questions guests may have.”
