Attendees of the Whistler Community Foundation’s (WCF) Glow Gala officially raised more than $107,717 for Whistler and Pemberton charities, according to a release from the WCF.
During the event in celebration of the foundation's 25 years of work, the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation donated $25,000 in matching funds. Donations came from silent auction bids and a live auction lead by Whistler Mayor Jack Crompton.
"We are so grateful to our partners, donors, and attendees, as well as the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation for supporting our 25th anniversary and contributing to our endowment funds. Our goal is to continue to grow the endowed funds ensuring local charities have a stable source of funding to sustain their programs and services year after year," said Claire Mozes, WCF CEO, in the release.
The WCF uses its endowment fund to donate to charities in Whistler and Pemberton, and its board of directors recently set a goal of increasing the endowment fund to $10 million by the end of 2025 and $25 million by 2030.
If you missed the Glow Gala, donations are still accepted online.
