Award-winning filmmaker, actor, writer, and director Angie Nolan is facilitating a three-day workshop the Point Artist-Run Centre (PARC).

The program is designed to help aspiring actors become proficient at a variety of skills, like psychologically and physically transforming into their character, using imagination to give themselves more fully to their performance, breaking down the inner workings of a scene, and staying true to character in front of an audience.

This course is intended for performers and people who have previous training and acting experience, and who are interested in embracing a new level of scene and character work.

Nolan has 30 years of experience in British Columbia's film and television industry. She spent fifteen years at the Whistler Film Festival (WFF) where she helped create and grow its Talent Labs and Industry Summit. Nolan has written, directed and acted in numerous theatre productions and taught a variety of acting classes in the Sea to Sky corridor.

Her accolades include a WIFTV Spotlight Awards (CA) - Leadership in Education Award for her achievements at WFF, and a Whistler Excellence - Champion of Arts and Culture Award for her commitment as a PARC board member.

The upcoming scene study workshop runs on Feb. 21, 24 and 25. More information is available at the PARC website.
