This year's finalists for the Whistler Excellence Awards have been revealed.

Laugh Out LIVE! is up for the "Whistler Champion of Arts & Culture Business" division alongside the Point Artist-Run Centre (PARC) and the Whistler Museum & Archives Society.

Recently-retired Doug Macfarlane is in the mix for "Business Person of the Year" with Roger Soane, plus Kaoru and Hidemi Ono.

We've got Innovation Building Group, which was awarded $1 million back in May, as part of the "Innovative Business of the Year" category.

Nicki Mckeon, Lisa Coulter and Samantha Knox have been deemed three of Whistler's top "Rising Stars of the Year."

Three others are vying for the "Sustainability in Action Business" award: Naked Sprout Cafe, Sea to Sky Sourdough Bread, as well as the Build-It and Re-Use It Centres.

Keep an eye on Filthy Jordan's Weekly Waste Removal, Alto Marketing and Management, and Barbex Cleaning as "Emerging Businesses of the Year."

Last but not least, Ashlie Girvan has been nominated for "Citizen of the Year" along with Carol Leacy and Charalyn Kriz.
