The B.C. Lions shored up their offensive line Monday, acquiring veteran American tackle Dejon Allen from the Toronto Argonauts. The six-foot-two, 300-pound Allen was the CFL's outstanding lineman in 2023.

OTTAWA — The Ottawa Redblacks hired William Fields as their defensive co-ordinator and secondary coach Monday. Fields served as co-defensive co-ordinator with Kevin Eiben last season with the Grey Cup-champion Toronto Argonauts.

WINNIPEG — Veteran right guard Pat Neufeld and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers have agreed to terms on a one-year extension. Neufeld was scheduled to become a free agent in February.

VANCOUVER — Mike Benevides is back as the B.C. Lions defensive co-ordinator. Benevides assumes the role on new head coach Buck Pierce's staff, the Lions announced Thursday. Benevides had spent the last two years as B.C.

MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes signed Canadian offensive lineman Jesse Gibbon to a one-year contract extension Thursday. The deal leaves Gibbon under contract with the CFL club through the 2026 season.

TORONTO — The reigning Grey Cup champion Toronto Argonauts have signed American defensive lineman Da'Marcus Johnson. The six-foot-four, 255-pound lineman from Sacramento, Calif., recorded 52 tackles, 5.

REGINA — The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed twin brothers Jordan and Justin Herdman-Reed to contract extensions Tuesday. The 30-year-old linebackers from Winnipeg are signed with the Roughriders through the 2025 season.

MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes have signed running back Walter Fletcher to a two-year contract extension, the CFL club announced Tuesday. Fletcher had 764 yards and four touchdowns on 141 carries in 2024, his first season as a full-time starter.

REGINA — American defensive back Tyrique McGhee has signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. McGhee signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent following the 2020 NFL Draft, spending the season on the practice roster.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders acquired the rights to veteran quarterback Jake Maier from the Calgary Stampeders on Monday for a 2025 eighth-round draft pick.
