Like most locals, cartoonist Lorne Craig was crushed when the COVID-19 pandemic cut the ski season short.

But instead of lamenting the loss for too long, he got busy putting pen to puzzle in a unique fundraiser for the Whistler Community Services Society (WCSS). The result is See You In Whistler, a 500-piece detailed jigsaw puzzle of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains, featuring more than 200 characters.

“Jigsaw puzzles have been rediscovered in these Covid-19 times,” says Craig, in a release. “They are also perfect for family nights at the ski cabin. What better way to keep our skiing spirits high?”

The puzzle is currently seeking funding via Indiegogo with estimated shipping for September. One puzzle is $42, two are $84 and three are $126. There was an option for $200 funding to have a cartoon version of yourself featured in the puzzle, but that has since sold out.

A portion of proceeds from the puzzle sales will go towards WCSS, which runs Whistler's busy food bank.

“This is a way that Whistler visitors from around the world can offer local support,” says Lori Pyne, WCSS interim executive director, in the release. “From each puzzle, WCSS will receive a donation, so we’re hoping this idea goes global. You are the pieces of our community puzzle!”
