Thanks for recognizing the achievements and hockey trajectory of local favourites Noah Brusse and Cody Flann. (“Whistlerites Cody Flann and Noah Brusse making the leap to NCAA hockey,” Pique, Aug.5)
I wanted to make a correction and give some more recognition to the other Noah in your article as well.
Noah Malthaner, who is also on his way to Missouri State University this fall, has been our next-door neighbour at Lillooet Lake since he was born.
We have watched him go from skating under the stars in their backyard rink to playing for the Winterhawks (also part of winning the Provincial championship) and moving on to play exciting Junior B seasons in defence for the Comox Glacier Kings and the North Vancouver Wolf Pack.
Being a hockey family in Whistler is tough. Doing so from even further up the corridor is doubly so.
So I wanted to give a shout out the dedication and support of Noah’s parents all these years as he now heads south with his teammates to stand tall in the U.S. junior hockey world.
Way to go boys—or should I say, MEN! I know the Noah / Noah / Cody crew will make a great Canadian impression, and the Ice Bears hockey team’s opponents won’t know what hit them.
PS—Noah’s brother Milo is just a few years behind him, and may make his own impression in the hockey world one day!
