BROSSARD, Que. — Kirby Dach will miss the rest of the NHL season.
The Montreal Canadiens announced Friday that the forward has undergone successful surgery on his injured right knee and is expected to make a full recovery before the start of next season.
The 24-year-old last played in Montreal's 5-2 win over the Ottawa Senators on Feb. 22.
It's the second straight season that a knee injury has ended Dach's campaign, after he tore his ACL and MCL in the same knee in his second game of 2023-24.
The six-foot-four, 221-pound centre had 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists) in 57 games this season.
Montreal currently sits in 12th in the Eastern Conference, but only five points out of the eighth and final playoff spot with 23 games remaining in the regular season.
