THE BLUE MOUNTAINS, Ont. — Canada's Reece Howden won ski cross gold and teammate Kevin Drury earned bronze at a World Cup on Friday at Craigleith Ski Club.
Howden, from Cultus Lake, B.C., finished ahead of Switzerland's Alex Fiva in the four-man big final.
"You've got to win the start here and you have be aggressive because you don’t have much time to make things happen," Howden said. “I had a close one in the quarterfinals but just got him at the line.
"Being solid and precise is key on this track and you need to maintain your space.”
Drury, from Toronto, reached the podium by holding off Florian Wilmsmann of Germany.
Switzerland's Fanny Smith won the women's race, topping Marielle Berger Sabbatel of France and Italy's Jole Galli.
India Sherret of Cranbrook, B.C., took top spot in the small final to finish fifth overall.
Another set of races was scheduled for Saturday at the same venue.
