RCMP seek man who assaulted skier on Mt. Washington ski run

RCMP said a skier was resting on the side of the hill when two males came down the hill and one ran over the victim’s skis. One of the males became upset and punched the victim in the face several times.

Comox Valley RCMP are looking for a man who assaulted a skier on Mount Washington on March 8.

The assault occurred about 2 p.m. on the Jacks Run.

RCMP said a skier was resting on the side of the hill when two males came down the hill and one of them ran over the victim’s skis.

One of the males became upset and told the victim to move along and then allegedly punched him in the face several times, tackled him to the ground and head-butted him.

The two males were last seen skiing down the hill.

The victim was wearing a video camera and managed to get a picture of the suspect before the assault occurred.

The man in the photo is described as white, between 20 and 25 years old, and 5-foot-8 with shoulder-length dirty blond hair.

The victim was taken to hospital and is recovering from his injuries.

Anyone who knows the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321 and refer to file number 2023-3494.
