The Hollyburn Cross Country Ski Club is hosting the first Teck Coast Cup of the season on Saturday at Whistler Olympic Park (WOP).
The interval-start free technique (skate or classic) races are formatted to welcome Nordic skiers of all ages and abilities, from U6 participants skiing a 100-metre course to Masters athletes aged 30 and up tackling a nine-kilometre route. Parasitting and parastanding categories are offered as well.
Points will be accumulated for each skier who successfully completes the race. Cross Country BC posts the aggregate points earned by participating clubs throughout the season online here. The club with the most points will be presented with The Club Aggregate Award at season's end.
A press release reads: "No race would be possible without your support. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, is what makes this event a success. Please consider volunteering [no experience needed]. Join us this weekend at Whistler Olympic Park to support friends, family and your local Nordic club at this fun-filled event!"
Registration closes on Wednesday at midnight. Click here for more details.
