Skateboard enthusiasts of all ages and abilities may want to drop by Showcase Snowboards this weekend, as Oakley is offering a series of free public skate events. No registration is required.
The Whistler Skateboard Club is offering two sessions on Saturday, July 8: a beginner's class for kids aged five to 12 at 10 a.m. and an intermediate workshop at 1 p.m. for all ages. Then from 4 to 8 p.m., Oakley athletes will put down their own jam session and best trick contest that's open to the public, featuring a DJ and prizes.
On Sunday, July 9 at 10 a.m., the Real Wild Kittens will facilitate a girls' only skateboard class, again for participants aged five to 12. An open session for members of the public will follow from 1 to 4 p.m.
