Kayla Constantini added another medal to her collection last weekend.
The Whistler Freeride Club (WFC) athlete struck gold in the IFSA Western Canada Freeride event in Lake Louise, Alta. with a score of 64.26. In doing so, she got the better of runner-up Anjah Morgan-Smith (62.90) and third-place Mary Huggill (61.86).
Fellow Whistlerite Regan Beattie narrowly missed out on some hardware in fourth (61.50).
"Thank you [Lake Louise] for a super fun weekend!" said Constantini on social media. "Everyone crushed it and so beyond happy to take the win! Thank you so much to all the WFC coaches."
On the boys U19 side, Kohen Tacilauskas grabbed a silver medal (67.23) and pushed eventual victor Sam Ogryzlo (68.27) to the limit. Bodie Mason earned bronze (66.77) and Ewan Telford wound up fifth (65.57).
Two local girls also reached the U15 podium. Luella Jones found herself in second (60.66) and got to stand next to clubmate Ellie Hannay who was third (59.77). Triumph went to Sophie Erfle (61.13).
Back in January, Constantini and six of her peers: Lukas Bennett, Drea Dimma, Nate Wilson, Kieren Ferguson and Kane Gascoigne, represented Canada at the Freeride Junior World Championships (FJWC). Bennett won it all, Dimma led Canadian women in seventh, and Constantini wound up ninth.
