The dust of the 53rd Luge World Championships has barely settled, yet the Whistler Sliding Centre (WSC) has already turned it's attention to the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler.
From 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. today, and noon to 7 p.m. tomorrow, more than 200 athletes will participate in skeleton: a brand-new Invictus discipline. They'll reach speeds of up to 100 kilometres/hour down the world's fastest ice.
Spectacting is free. Visitors are asked to reach the WSC via the Excalibur Gondola mid-station, as there is no on-site parking during races. Local transit routes will also be disrupted until Feb. 12.
Passenger bobsleigh operations will resume at the WSC after the conclusion of skeleton.
