Ethan Wood acquitted himself well last weekend with his third-place effort at the Canmore Canada Cup.

The talented Pembertonian finished his cross-country race in an hour, five minutes and just over 20 seconds. He shared the cadet (U17) expert men's podium with victor Rowan Nistal (1:04:45.0) and silver medallist Farland Lamont (1:05:12.3).

Wood keeps a demanding competitive schedule. Whenever he's not riding cross-country, he gets down and dirty in the non-Olympic sport of cyclocross: a punishing gauntlet that forces athlete and bike to tackle steep hills, roots, embankments and literal hurdles between them and the finish line.
