Anne-Marie Joncas wrapped up 2024 on a high note.

The local racer struck two consecutive silver medals in Nakiska, Alta. during her most recent Nor-Am Cup event.

On Dec. 14 Joncas found herself in a dead heat with Kael Oberlander (an unusual phenomenon in ski cross) behind the victorious Sage Stefani. Yet Oberlander got the last laugh, prevailing over everybody else the following day.

Joncas is coming off a year to remember. She qualified for the most recent Winter Youth Olympics in Gangwon, South Korea last January and became the reigning U19 Canadian champion in March. Now the Whistlerite is bound for Torino, Italy to participate in the FISU World University Games from Jan. 13 to 23.

Currently a student-athlete with the University of Calgary Dinos, Joncas also trains out of Nakiska with the EvolveNasa team. More of her results can be viewed here.
