Whistlerite Marielle Thompson added to her long list of achievements on Wednesday in Beijing, as she took second place in women’s ski cross at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
Thompson started the final heat at the back of the pack before a dramatic drive into second before the final jump.
Sweden’s Sandra Naeslund took gold, while Germany’s Daniela Maier took an unexpected bronze after Switzerland’s Fanny Smith was disqualified.
The win marks Thompson’s second Olympic medal, following her gold medal win at the 2014 Sochi Games.
