As Whistler prepares for an anticipated busy winter season, the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) and BC Transit announced that winter bus service will return, effective Saturday, Dec. 3.
The service expansion will not coincide with the ski hill's opening day this year, as the additional buses will start running a little over a week after Whistler Blackcomb opens on Nov. 24.
This seasonal service change will see additional buses on the following routes:
- 4 Marketplace Shuttle
- 5 Upper Village/Benchlands
- 6 Tapley’s/Blueberry
- 10 Valley Express (route starts at 6 a.m.)
- 20 Cheakamus
- 20X Cheakamus
- 21 Spring Creek
- 30 Emerald via Alpine
- 31 Alpine only
- 32 Emerald via Spruce Grove/White Gold
The winter rider's guide lists these additional trips and more information on the bus service. Winter bus service is in effect from Dec. 3, 2022-April 2, 2023.
According to BC Transit, extra service and buses may be deployed from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to support high-demand periods such as weekends and winter school holidays. For real-time updates and bus schedules, check NextRide.
