Happy Friday, Whistler! Here's how your weekend is kicking off in the resort.
Today's forecast calls for periods of rain with a high of about 6 C in Whistler. A low of 2 C is expected overnight, with periods of rain. Looking to tomorrow, the forecast calls for more rain, with a high of about 5 C.
On the mountain, Whistler Blackcomb is forecasting periods of snow, with a high of about -1 C, a low of about -2 C, and high winds. The freezing level sits at about 1,400 metres. The mountain operator is reporting four centimetres of fresh snow in the past 12 hours, and a base depth of about 185 cm.
WB is reporting 71 groomed runs and 864 acres on Whistler, and 70 groomed runs and 742 acres on Blackcomb.
Both alpine and mid-mountain surface conditions are listed as variable.
"An active westerly pattern will now bring a series of Pacific frontal systems to the region through Monday before the pattern slows down towards the middle of next week. The next system arrives this morning bringing moderate snowfall during the day. The next organized systems then bring occasionally heavy snow on Saturday and Sunday before the last much weaker impulse arrives with a few more flurries for Monday," WB said in its morning report.

The avalanche danger rating in the Sea to Sky is currently considerable, according to Avalanche Canada.
"Storm slabs continue to build while temperatures rise. Avalanches may step down to underlying weak layers," the forecaster said on its website.
