The Whistler RCMP is asking for the public's help in tracking down a painting stolen from a Function Junction building late last month.

According to a release, the painting was stolen between Aug. 24 and 25 from the lobby of a building at 1420 Alpha Lake Road.

The art, a hard acrylic canvass, is a painting of a photograph from a local artist and is valued at approximately $6,000, the release said.

“We are releasing a photograph of the stolen painting so that the public can be on the lookout for this piece of art and in the chance that somebody may have seen it already and know of its whereabouts,” said Cst. Katrina Boehmer, media relations officer for Sea to Sky Whistler RCMP, in the release.

Anyone with any information regarding the theft, or any other crime, is asked to contact the Sea to Sky Whistler RCMP at 604-932-3044, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1‑800‑222‑TIPS, or go to the website www.solvecrime.ca.
