Whistler Pride and Ski Festival has teamed up with the Out on Patrol outreach program for a kids' tube slide this Friday, Jan. 24, a community-building event designed to bring 2SLGBTQ+ youth and allies together for socialization and sport.
"Feel the wind in your face as you cruise downhill! No skill or equipment required—just a sense of adventure and a desire for excitement. A single ticket gets you unlimited rides until your time is up," festival organizers wrote in a release.
Youths aged 13 to 19 can tube for an hour at Whistler Blackcomb’s Tube Park on Blackcomb Mountain, with their gate fee paid by Out on Patrol, a non-profit peer support organization for 2SLGBTQ+ members of law enforcement, focused on community engagement, charitable work, and education.
Space is limited. Pre-registration is required, as is a nominal $5 fee that will be donated to Whistler Animals Galore. The deadline for registration is today, Jan. 21, at noon. Register here. The required arrival time is 10: 30 a.m. at Blackcomb Base II, with tubing starting at 11 a.m.
The 32nd annual Whistler Pride and Ski Festival, one of the world's largest 2SLGBTQ+ ski weeks, runs through Jan. 26. For tickets, and the full festival lineup, click here.
