Whistler police are asking for the public's help identifying a number of suspects connected to a stabbing and assault earlier this month, according to a release.
Police said the first incident occurred at approximately 10 p.m. on Friday, March 5 when RCMP responded to an altercation on the Village Stroll in front of Araxi Restaurant, where a man was assaulted and injured.
The unidentified suspect is described as a South Asian male in his twenties, roughly 6-3 in height with a slim build, and black hair in a high fade/buzzcut and a small goatee, and wearing all black clothes at the time.
The following day, police were notified of an earlier incident that occurred at approximately 1:20 a.m. on the Village Stroll near the Crystal Lodge and Beacon Pub, the site of another altercation that led to a man being assaulted and stabbed by two males, police said.
The victim was treated and released from hospital, police said.
The first suspect is described as a South Asian man, approximately 5-10 in height with a slim build and longer hair.
The second suspect is also described a South Asian male, approximately 5-10 in height, with a heavier build and shaved hair. Police said he was wearing a winter coat with a hood at the time.
Whistler RCMP is asking anyone who witnessed the incidents or has any information that could help identify the suspects to contact the detachment at 604-932-3044 or Sea to Sky Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or solvecrime.ca.
Notably, the RCMP designated Whistler as a bilingual community last year, meaning press releases have to go through translation before being published, which can take days and could help explain the 11-day delay between the incidents and release.
