The Hemlocks, the Whistler Housing Authority's newest rental building, officially opened to tenants in Cheakamus Crossing on Oct. 29.

The Whistler Housing Authority (WHA) is reassuring hundreds of locals on its rental and ownership waitlists after members reported receiving a message stating their applications had been cancelled.

In an email Tuesday, Nov. 26, the WHA said some waitlist members have received an automated email from [email protected] stating “your application status being cancelled.” The municipal subsidiary added it was looking into the situation, which it said stemmed from an issue with its waitlist software.

“Please ignore the email while we address things and we’re sorry for the confusion this is causing,” the WHA email went on. “For clarity, no waitlist applications have been cancelled today.”

Anyone with specific concerns is asked to message [email protected].

Pique has requested more information from the municipality and will update this story as more details become available.
