The Whistler Fire Rescue Service contained a fire on Eagle Drive that damaged two units Monday night, Dec. 9, the municipality confirmed.

In an email, the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) said crews responded to a report of a roof fire in the 6100 block of Eagle Drive just after 9 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found flames showing from the roof of a three-storey, six-unit townhouse complex. Firefighters on the scene were able to contain the blaze to two units, leaving the building’s remaining four units undamaged.

No occupants were in the units at the time and no injuries were reported, the RMOW said. The Whistler Fire Rescue Service is following up with owners to determine whether the units currently have tenants. “It does not appear that anyone has been displaced,” the email continued.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
