Here's a quick rundown of some Whistler construction projects currently taking place, courtesy of the Resort Municipality of Whistler.
The next Whistler council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 12.
Alta Vista: Culvert replacement work continues through Thursday, Oct. 5. A temporary road has been constructed to connect Lakeside Road (at the cul-de-sac) to Hillcrest Drive. Please note, additional work will be taking place during the day of Saturday, Sept. 2. Overall impacts include: a small number of parking stalls at Lakeside Park, street parking, including marked temporary no parking areas on Alta Vista Road, and Valley Trail closures. Please respect all signage and follow directions from site personnel.
Bayly Park and Day Lot 4: EV charging station installation will be taking place in both Bayly Park and Day Lot 4. In Bayly Park a dual-port EV charging station is being installed near the parking lot entrance; expected completion early September. In Day Lot 4 construction to begin in early September for the installation of five dual-port EV charging stations, along the southwest edge of the parking lot.
Valley Trail between Village Gate Boulevard and Lorimer Road: There will be sewer main repairs taking place between Village Gate Boulevard and Lorimer Road. The Valley Trail will be closed from Wednesday, Aug. 23 to Monday, Sept. 11. Please note, this work may result in some sewer odour in the area. Pedestrians and cyclists please follow construction/detour signs and directions from traffic control personnel.
Cheakamus and Function Junction: Work on the South Whistler Water Supply continues with installation of water mains down Cheakamus Lake Road and the wastewater treatment plant access road. Please expect traffic delays.
