Speaker auditions are opening soon for the 2023 edition of TEDxWhistler.
The theme of this year's conference is "purpose."
"Purpose can carry many meanings, and each one of us has a unique perspective of how purpose shapes our life experiences and defines who we are today," reads an email from organizers. "Purpose is our compass—always guiding us forward. We’re looking forward to having our speakers take the stage to explore and share their ideas worth spreading about purpose."
Speaker auditions for TEDxWhistler’s 2023 event, scheduled for May 7, will open for submissions on Jan. 20.
The event was last held in Whistler back in 2021 at the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre, featuring a range of speakers, including Chief Kúkwpi7 Gélpcal, the cultural chief of the Lil'wat Nation; Chief Chepximiya Siyam’ Janice George of the Squamish Nation; Whistler Mayor Jack Crompton; Jillian Harris of Jillian Harris Design; gold-medal Olympian and host of The Amazing Race Canada, Jon Montgomery; and Dr. Karin Kausky, co-chair of the Sea to Sky Division of Family Practice, to name just a few.
While TED created the program, it doesn't run TEDx events. Rather, they're organized locally.
