Photos: Fungus Among Us celebrates 20 years

Unseasonably warm weather not enough to quell the mushroom rush

The fan-favourite Fungus Among Us Mushroom Festival returned to Whistler for its 20th edition on Oct. 14 and 15.

Attendees were treated to informative talks with fungal experts at Legends Hotel in Creekside on Oct. 14, followed by forest walks the following morning, Saturday, Oct. 15. Despite drier-than-hoped-for conditions, foragers managed to collect an impressive range of mushrooms for the display tables later in the afternoon.

Tying it all together was the Forest to Table luncheon on Oct. 15, where chef Bruce Worden served up a tantalizing, five-course mushroom feast on the Milestones patio.
