Photos taken around Pemberton show the devastating impact the floods had on businesses and properties this week.
Michelle Beks shared photos of localized flooding on her farm with Pique. She said she's never seen flooding like this so early in the year.
"We have a watercourse that runs through the farm," she said. "It is high, but not flooding any buildings. We have water seeping into our cellar which is usually an issue with fall rain storms. I've never seen this in January. "
The Pemberton Valley Dyking District (PVDD) said in a Facebook post that Mother Nature gave Pemberton a pass this week. Officials are encouraging community members to fill out a Flood Risk and Resilience Awareness Survey and to upload any photos they have taken of the floods. This will help the PVDD establish high-water marks, local-area issues, and plan improvements for the future.
