The Village of Pemberton (VOP) wants residents' input on a potential development in the village's downtown core.
Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 5 p.m. to discuss an amendment to the Official Community Plan (OCP).
The bylaw update to the OCP addresses 7451 and 7453 Frontier Street—two parcels at the north-east corner of Frontier Street and Camus Street totalling 0.40 acres. The amendment proposes changing land-use designations from residential to downtown.
The site currently hosts a single-family dwelling with a garage, landscaped yard, and shed.
The lands are currently zoned R-1 Residential with permitted principal use of detached dwelling and permitted accessory uses of bed and breakfast, home occupation, secondary suite, and short-term vacation rental. The bylaw update would see the potential for mixed-use development on the site, including multi-family residential building and commercial options.
Immediately following the public hearing, council will reconvene for a special meeting to decide on the bylaw. Both the public hearing and subsequent vote will be held in council chambers at 7400 Prospect Street. The meeting will also be available through a zoom link on council's website.
