The Pemberton Animal Wellbeing Shelter is bringing eight puppies to its meet-and-greet on Sunday, Jan. 19.

Pemberton’s permanent population could be about to increase by eight adorable puppies.

The Pemberton Animal Wellbeing Shelter (PAWS) is set to host its first Puppy Meet of 2025. On Jan. 19, from 1 to 3 p.m., the shelter is bringing eight puppies from its shelter to the Pemberton & District Community Centre for people to meet. Attendees are asked to enter through the great lawn next to the centre.

PAWS recommends a minimum $10 donation to attend the meet or asks that attendees bring at least one of the following items:

- Dog and cat food, ideally in their original packaging.
- Tins of pure pumpkin.
- Puppy pads.
- Dog toys in good condition.
- Dog and cat treats.
- Martingale collars in good condition.
- Harnesses in good condition, especially small puppy and large/XL sizes.

PAWS said in a Facebook post it is currently unable to accept towels, blankets and bedding due to space limitations.

Follow PAWS’ Facebook page for updates on the event, and visit the shelter's website for more information about the animals up for adoption.
