Lil’wat Business Group (LBG) and Pemberton Concrete Inc. (PCI) have announced a limited partnership agreement, saying it marks another step towards advancing economic reconciliation and fostering sustainable community development.
Both LBG and PCI hope to serve as a model for other organizations who want to honour the past while building a brighter future.
In a press release, the organizations said both are committed to creating "long-term, sustainable, and mutual benefits through a holistic and values-driven approach.”
Frederik Young from PCI said partnering advances their already strong relationship with the Lil’wat Business Group.
"Together we will build partnerships that represent our shared values,” he said. ”By committing to these values and principles, the partnership will showcase that impactful economic opportunities have many associated downstream benefits. We are all excited about the potential of the partnership.”
CEO of the LBG, Rosemary Stager, said it is proud of the relationships it has already developed with several regional businessesm including Murphy Construction, Sea to Sky Soils and the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District.
“LBG continues to actively explore new opportunities with values-aligned businesses,” said Stager. “Our collaboration with Pemberton Concrete exemplifies our dedication to creating impactful and sustainable economic opportunities on our traditional ancestral territory that benefit all.”
Stager recently took the reins at LBG and told Pique she was looking forward to amplifying its presence throughout the Sea to Sky corridor. “We are in negotiations on new projects and in the planning stages for others,” she said. “We have a number of parcels of land in Whistler and Pemberton. We are contemplating appropriate development.”
